Seeing yet another death.

S/he had fallen off freshly off the tree. The merry munching of young spring shoots still in mouth. Body was still warm and pliant as if sleeping but no heartbeat. While trapezing through so many wires, guess stepped on a live one. Eyes lifeless. luckily no passing car had flattened it beyond recognition. I had job to do. Of carfully lifting god's one of the awesome creation and putting it where nature and not motorized human will take care of it. Gently lifting it, I kept it on bed of grass and dry leaves. Sighing deeply, my walk tired legs walked the remaining path, my mouth still chanting "mahamritunjaya mantra" .
