An idle activity

We have a stream in the backyard.Or rather its a "nalla" in our naional language. But a clear water one. Ofcourse where there are a majority of my countrymen, there is unattentended plastic bag baloons stuck somehwre on the trees, some small big cartons or outer covers of goods, a bottle or two lolling around with remains of water or what not. Luckily still, this stream still is clean. Maybe thats one indicator that we dont stay in my native place.
This stream incidentally carries beautiful clear water overflowing from a lake. When its sunny for days together, the water turns mere trickle, a shady cool haven for birds and ducks and deer (yes we have deer in the backyard...didnt I mention we are tarzan, jane and mowgli family??)

The covid has restricted how and where we go, so with pilla, I went one saturday (tired of the annoyingly cloying cartoon voices the trains and bears make). We went near the trickle of a stream and collected stones and started throwing them back in the stream. A simple activity but with the coolness of trees and a sultry atmosphere, it is something both of us look forward to, especially when either or both need a welcome break from online schooling, or even the same four walls of a home.

I so wish pilla becomes some one who is curious of the world around who not only loves but cares for the nature, looking after it, just like I try to do.
